How much do we know about the Gulf of Mexico? In terms of money, the Gulf coast counties produce 10% of the economy of all of the coastal states in the U.S. but it is surrounded by 3 countries; Cuba to the south, Mexico to the west and the north and east by the U.S. 25 million people live around the Gulf of Mexico yet what is there working knowledge of the value of the GOM? How big is it? We know there is one oil platform there. We know it leaked and has been stopped. What effect did it have on the Mississippi Delta?
Over the next 6 days, I will be in the Delta with scientists studying the Loon population to see for myself and share it with you through this blog.
